The Welcome Reception for the EDA Annual convention 2017 will take place at the Vasa Museum, located at the island Djurgården in Stockholm. The Vasa is the only preserved seventeenth-century ship in the world and a unique art treasure. More than 95 percent of the ship is original and it is decorated with hundreds of carved sculptures.
The Vasa ship capsized and sank in Stockholm 1628 and after 333 years on the sea bed the mighty warship was salvaged. Today, the Vasa is the most visited museum in Scandinavia with over one million visitors a year. Your evening will start with a guided tour of the museum followed by a welcome reception in the Ship Hall next to the grand Vasa Ship.

The European Dairy Platform will be followed by a Gala Dinner and dance at the Opera Terrace in central Stockholm. The Opera Terrace offers a magnificent view of the Royal Palace, the Swedish Parliament and the surrounding waters through the panoramic windows. The food will be prepared by the well-known chef Stefano Catenacci. Catenacci is the Chef des Cuisines at the Opera Terrace since 1996 and he’s also responsible for catering all banquets and dinners at the Royal Palace.
Just a few minutes away from the city of Stockholm, the archipelago begins with more than 30,000 islands. On the social tour on Saturday you will have the chance to explore a bit of the archipelago by boat. On board, you will see the best of Stockholm's beautiful archipelago while listening to a guide who’s telling you about the typical sights. A lunch will be served on the boat and it returns to Stockholm city around 13.30. It is possible to walk back to Clarion Sign Hotel for those who must be at Arlanda airport in the afternoon.
After the boat tour, a guided bus tour in the city will follow on our way to the Stockholm City Hall. Stockholm City Hall, with its spire featuring the golden Three Crowns, is one of the most famous silhouettes in Stockholm. The famous Nobel Banquet is held in City Hall’s Blå hallen, the Blue Hall, every December. Afterwards Nobel Prize laureates, royalty and guests dance in the Gyllene salen, the Golden Hall, with its 18 million gold mosaic tiles. You will have a guided tour of the Stockholm City Hall and we will be back at Clarion Sign Hotel by 16.00.
